Under the Climate Initiative, a programme whose purpose is to help finance scientific research into climate change, the BNP Paribas Foundation began providing support to five new research projects in 2014. Now the Foundation is running a contest intended to bring these research projects to the notice of a wider audience and raise people’s awareness of climate change issues.
Take a close look at the five projects selected this year for support and select the one that appeals to you most. The project team that garners the most votes will receive an additional grant of €50,000 for the purpose of promoting and highlighting their research work among the general public!
You can cast a vote for your favourite project from now until 7 November. The results of the vote will be announced online on 12 November.
Understanding the factors underlying climate change and being able to predict the consequences for our environment and the world’s populations is one of the most serious challenges we face today. In order to help advance research in this field, the BNP Paribas Foundation, in close collaboration with the BNP Paribas Corporate Social Responsibility department, launched the Climate Initiative in 2011. The purpose of this corporate philanthropy programme is to finance scientific research projects. The Foundation is currently supporting a total of ten research projects as part of the Climate Initiative.
