As a company committed to challenging bias and creating positive change, we are saddened by the recent displays of racial injustice. These deaths are the latest in a pattern of unacceptable racial aggression. We want our employees, our clients, and our community to know that we do not accept what is happening to people of color in America.
We stand with those who are fighting for social justice and we want to amplify their voices, not only our own. We invite you to learn more about the organizations we’re supporting and the work they’re doing to ensure that marginalized voices aren’t drowned out by powerful ones.
The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund “is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice.” LDF is committed to voter enfranchisement, removing racial bias from our criminal justice system, fighting economic exploitation, and unfair hiring practices, and ensuring that race isn’t a determining factor in whether or not a child receives a safe, inclusive, high-quality education. It administers both the Herbert Lehman and Earl Warren Scholarship and is home to the Thurgood Marshall Institute, a multidisciplinary center committed to research and advocacy that advances the work of racial justice.
The Equal Justice Initiative “is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.” EJI fights against extreme sentences for children, the death penalty, abusive prison conditions, and prosecutorial malfeasance, and it provides groundbreaking reports to assist the advocates and policymakers who are fighting for criminal justice reform.
The Posse Foundation “identifies, recruits and trains individuals with extraordinary leadership potential. Posse Scholars receive full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner colleges and universities” including Boston University, Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, The University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Notre Dame. The Posse Foundation works to expand the talent pool for elite universities to ensure opportunity for the next generation of leaders from diverse backgrounds; it advises universities on how to make their campuses and programs inclusive and welcoming to all students; and it supports students throughout their educational careers, setting them up for success in undergraduate and graduate programs and in the workplace.
